BIO SAFETY

At INGECLIMA, we are aware of the importance to have adequate installations for the Bio Safety sector and therefore we offer complete turn key installations of BIO SAFETY Laboratorios type

Depending on its biological risk, a laboratory is classified according its designated Bio safety level:

Bio safety level 1 (BSL-1). - basic level of containment. The type of micro organism exposed does not affect dangerously human health. Under this level laboratories for training and testing are defined.

Bio safety level 2 (BSL-2). - Applicable level for laboratories of clinical use such as diagnostics, etc., there micro organisms are exposed which affects moderately human health, but are not aerosol transmitted. Work procedures do include Bio Safety isolators. Further required means are hand wash sinks.

Bio safety level 3 (BSL-3). - At this level micro organisms are exposed with risk of aerosol transmission, which are potentially mortal. Protection barriers are obligatory. All direct handling should be realized in Bio Safety isolators or contained in air tight equipment. Other containment measures are access control, double doors with interlocking, control of air flow direction with room pressure cascade from inside to outside.

Bio safety level 4 (BSL-4). - At this level micro organisms are exposed with high risk on human life, with aerosol transmission, and/or without possibility of therapy and vaccine. All kind of handlings does have a high risk of exposure, both to the operator and the environment. Working conditions must be in Isolators class III, and/or with hermetic suits. These rooms are located in separate buildings or completely isolated zones. A sophisticated ventilation system and effluent treatment is required in order to avoid escape of dangerous micro organisms.

BIOWASTE

At our pharmaceutical division INGE-PHARMA we design, build and validate installations for biological waste treatment, including all liquid effluents which are considered bio contaminated. Processes for decontamination: Thermal process PChemical process APPLICATIONS: Contaminated effluents from contaminated sewing systems of Laboratories type LSB-3 or LSB-4, hand wash sinks, drainage pits, showers, sinks, sterilizers, CIP/SIP systems, etc., etc.
